Dear Electoral Commission,

According to this job advert you are looking for 4 new Senior Advisors. https://www.linkedin.com/jobs/view/18703...

Can you tell me who made the decision to create those new posts?

FOI, Electoral Commission

Dear Abdul Hai,

Our Ref: FOI-074-20

Thank you for your email to the Electoral Commission dated 21 May 2020.

The Commission aims to respond to requests for information promptly and
has done so within the statutory timeframe of twenty working days.

Your request is shown below followed by our response.

According to this job advert you are looking for 4 new Senior Advisors.

Can you tell me who made the decision to create those new posts?

Can you publish the business case for creating those posts?

Our response is as follows:

We hold the information you have requested.

The four Senior Advisor posts covered by the advert you reference sit
within the Regulation, and Electoral Administration and Guidance (EAG)
Directorates of the Commission. The decision to include them in our
Interim Corporate Plan for 2020/21-2024/25 and financial estimate was
taken by the Executive Team of the Commission, on recommendation from
Director of Regulation, Louise Edwards, and the Director of EAG, Ailsa
Irvine.

You can find the Commission`s [2]Interim Corporate Plan on our website, in
the `who we are` section.

Your second request is for us to take action rather than disclose
information. We do not routinely publish internal business cases for
recruitment and have no plans to do so in this case. However, the Interim
Corporate Plan provides information about our plans for the next five
years, which these posts are part of.

The Commission strives to be an open, transparent authority and I trust
that this information satisfies your request.

If you are not satisfied with this response, please note that the
Commission operates a review procedure, details of which can be found on
the Commission website at:
[3]https://www.electoralcommission.org.uk/f....

Please also note that if you have exhausted all internal Commission review
procedures and you are still not satisfied you have the right to appeal to
the Information Commissioner. Details of this procedure can be found on
the ICO website: [4]https://ico.org.uk/.

Yours sincerely
