Thank you for your Freedom of Information request dated 13^th September
2023.

The information you have requested is as follows:

I’m seeking information from the council/local authority under the freedom
of information act.

Under the freedom of information act please confirm the current size of
your SEND/high needs deficit? Please use the most recent figure you have
available even if this is from the previous financial year.

SEND is a term used in England.  The term in Wales is Additional Learning
Needs (ALN) and it is governed by a separate legal framework - the
Additional Learning Needs and Education Tribunal (ALNET) 2018. 

If you would like us to respond to the above, the request will need to
relate to the ALNET Act by which Ceredigion is governed. 

We hope that the above information will be of assistance, however should
you have any complaints in relation to this FOI response the Council
operates an internal appeals procedure.  If you wish to utilise this
procedure please respond to this e-mail, marked for the attention of: Mr
Alun Williams, Corporate Lead Officer for Policy, Performance and Public
Protection, within 40 working days of the date of this response.

Following internal review, you may apply directly to the Information
Commissioner for a decision on the matter.  Generally, the Information
Commissioner’s Office (ICO) cannot make a decision unless you have
exhausted the appeals procedure provided by the Council.
