Dear Glasgow Caledonian University,
Under the Freedom of Information (Scotland) Act, I would like to know how many cases were dealt with by Senate Disciplinary Committee in session 07/08, 08/09 and 09/10. Of these, how many were found to be guilty and how many were found to be not guilty. The information should be in spreadsheet format and be broken down by programme level, school and international or domestic status.
Dear Mr McMullen
Glasgow Caledonian University has received your request for information (below). The University is currently processing this and will get back to you as soon as possible.
Freedom of Information Enquiries
Dear Mr McMullen,
In response to your FoI request concerning Senate Disciplinary Statistics the University is able to provide you with some of the information you request. This information is provided in the attached file. The University is unable to provide you with a breakdown for each of the three sessions by programme level, school, international and domestic status due to the small numbers of cases in each category.
As the actual number of cases is small by providing the information as requested this could lead to the students being identified and would put the University in breach of Principles 1 and 2 of the Data Protection Act 1998. Hence the University is relying on paragraph 38(1)(b) together with 38(2)(a)(i) of the Freedom of Information (Scotland) Act 2002 to withhold the information.
