Please could you tell me:

1. How many children/ young people between the ages of 0 and 25 years old in your local authority have a Statement of Special Educational Needs or an EHCP?

2. How many children with special educational needs in your local authority area required an Education Health Care Plan or a statement of SEN for transitioning from primary to secondary school in September 2017?

3. How many of these children (Q2) received their final transition Education Health Care Plan or statement by 15 February 2017?

Please see below Sunderland City Council’s response to your FOI request.

 

This information has been provided in response to a Freedom of Information
request and this must be acknowledged in any subsequent use of the
information. In addition the authority must be notified of any proposed
re-use of this information for commercial or other purposes.

 

How many children/ young people between the ages of 0 and 25 years old in
your local authority have a Statement of Special Educational Needs or an
EHCP?

As at Jan 2017 from SEN2, 1283

 

How many children with special educational needs in your local authority
area required an Education Health Care Plan or a statement of SEN for
transitioning from primary to secondary school in September 2017?

There were 89 Y6 pupils with ECHP transferring from primary to secondary.

 

How many of these children (Q2) received their final transition Education
Health Care Plan or statement by 15 February 2017?

Of the above 89, 20 received their final ECHP by 15.02.17.
