Semi Independent Accommodation Framework

James Oliver made this Freedom of Information request to Wigan Metropolitan Borough Council

Automatic anti-spam measures are in place for this older request. Please let us know if a further response is expected or if you are having trouble responding.

Response to this request is long overdue. By law, under all circumstances, Wigan Metropolitan Borough Council should have responded by now (details). You can complain by requesting an internal review.

Dear Wigan Metropolitan Borough Council,

Please could you answer the following questions in regards to Semi Independent Accommodation for Looked After Children aged 16 plus.

1.1. Do you use a framework for your providers of Semi Independent Accommodation for Looked After Children (LAC) aged 16 plus?
1.2. If the answer to Question 1.1 is yes, please let me know the name of the framework that you use.
1.3. Please let me know the date that it will be renewed.
1.4. Do you make use of spot purchases outside of this framework?

2.1. If you don't use a Framework, do you instead have a Preferred Supplier List (PSL) of providers of Semi Independent Accommodation for LAC aged 16 plus?
2.2. If the answer to Question 2.1 is yes, please let me know the date that this PSL will be renewed.
2.3. Do you make use of spot purchases outside of this PSL?

3. Who is the person within the council who would be in charge of the Framework or PSL of providers of Semi Independent Accommodation for LAC aged 16 plus?

Yours faithfully,

James Oliver

FoI Request, Wigan Metropolitan Borough Council

Dear Mr Oliver,

I am emailing to confirm the receipt of your recent request for information to Wigan Council. This has been logged with reference FOI 10874 and will be forwarded to the relevant department for action.

We will respond as soon as possible and in most cases no later than 20 working days after the receipt of your request i.e. by 13th October 2020.

The Information Commissioner’s Office has recognised the unprecedented challenges all are facing during the pandemic and that people may experience delays when making information rights requests during the current situation.

Please also be aware that the response may not be complete in whole or in part. This is due to government wide measures to prevent spread of the outbreak. Wigan Council is currently handling a large volume of business critical work aimed towards the protection and safeguarding of at risk groups, and as such the business area may not be able to provide full information for the completion of the Freedom of the Information request. We will confirm as much as possible when we send our response to your request.

I trust you will understand this position, but if you are dissatisfied, we would advise you to re-submit the request in 3-6 months when we may be in a position to confirm our response.

If you have any comments or questions in the meantime, please direct them to [Wigan Council request email], or in writing to the address below.

The Council does not charge for most FOI requests, but charges may be made for actual disbursements incurred such as photocopying, printing, postage and packaging, and only if these charges amount to more than £20.00. If a charge is to be made, confirmation of the payment due will be given before the information is provided and payment may be requested prior to the provision of the information.

Kind Regards

Graham Donelan
Information Governance Officer
