Gardiner Alistair,

Dear Mr Cameron,

As you are aware the Freedom of Information (Scotland) Act 2002, allows a public authority 20 workings days to retrieve information requested and to draft the response.

Your request was received on 25 July , therefore the response will be provided by 23 August.

Kind regards

Alistair Gardiner

Dear Alistair,

I am indeed aware the FOI act allows 20 working days for a reply.

Are you aware the request went in on July 4 - hence why I am chasing you up?

According to the Information Commissioner website you should count Friday July 5 ("the first working day after the request is received") as the first day. I received an email acknowledgement of my request on July 4, so I hope you will understand my confusion, given you have missed the 20-day deadline.

Yours sincerely,

Ewan Cameron

Dear Mr Cameron,

Please see below your most request for information clearly dated 25 July. This was the request to which I thought you were enquiring.

You did however make an earlier request on 4 July to which a response was provided on 31 July. Given your enquiry it would seem that for some reason you have not received it. I have therefore attached that response here for you convenience.

Kind Regards

Alistair Gardiner

Dear Alistair,

I use the WhatDoTheyKnow website, which collates my FOI requests and your response came under my July 4 request about self harm incidents, hence the confusion. Thank you for sending on the information, which hadn't arrived for one reason or another.

Yours sincerely,

Ewan Cameron
