Dear Clackmannanshire Council,

Please provide your policies and procedures relating to the calculation of the 'Relevant Amount' for people in receipt of ‘Option 1’ of Self-Directed Support payments in social care.

If not included, please also advise of:

1. How the 'Relevant Amount' is determined in monetary terms - e.g. through a Resource Allocation System, an equivalency system, etc.;

2. The payment cycle (e.g. monthly, quarterly, annually) and the trigger for these payments (automatic or based on manual intervention, such as following a financial reconciliation of the account);

3. How the value of each payment is calculated (e.g. is this a fixed amount for each payment, regardless of account balance? Is the existing balance of funds in the nominated account accounted for in determining future balance transfers? Is there a ‘contingency fund’ maintained in the Direct Payment account, and if so, how is the value of this contingency determined?);
