Selective Licencing Scheme

Response to this request is long overdue. By law, under all circumstances, Wirral Metropolitan Borough Council should have responded by now (details). You can complain by requesting an internal review.

Dear Wirral Metropolitan Borough Council,

This query relates to WMBC's selective licencing scheme.

It is noted that "An extensive public consultation with landlords, residents, businesses and
stakeholders ... commenced on 24th November 2014. Following the identification
of a computer error regarding the full address list identified within the consultation
paperwork, the correction was made and following legal advice the consultation was
run for the statutory 10 week period from the date the amendment was made unto
18th February 2015."

Please advise:

What was the "computer error" that you discovered and when did you discover it?
On what date was the amendment made?

On what date was the designation published?

Yours faithfully,

Thom Vaughan

Dear Mr Vaughan

Thank you for your recent Freedom of Information enquiry regarding WMBC's
selective licencing scheme. Please see the Council’s response to your
request below.

What was the "computer error" that you discovered and when did you
discover it?

The Council used the IT software MapInfo to export a list into Excel of
all addresses in the identified Lower Super Output Areas (LSOA).  When
doing this for LSOA E1007215, not all addresses were exported.

Although the address lists were for information only and didn’t change the
proposed geographic designation (the LSOA), the address lists were
rectified as soon as this error was brought to the Council’s attention and
the statutory ten week consultation was re-started again in order that
stakeholders had the correct background information to comment.

On what date was the amendment made?

10^th December 2014.

On what date was the designation published?

16^th March 2015.

We trust this information is of interest to you.

Yours sincerely
