This request has been closed to new correspondence from the public body. Contact us if you think it ought be re-opened.

Response to this request is long overdue. By law, under all circumstances, Port of Tilbury London Police should have responded by now (details). You can complain by requesting an internal review.

Dear Port of Tilbury London Police,

My car was seized by port police under a strange reason that it was under lease financing. This happen when I was trying to beat a new custom duty regime which should come into effect in January in my home country.

Now, the vehicle was seized but Neither me nor my shipping agent was contacted by the police until documents were not forth coming regarding the shipment; this prompted an inquest into why it was so before we realized that my car has been in custody of the police. The police had claimed that I was not contacted because the vehicle's shipping note contains no contacts---this is definitely a tissue of lies because vehicles meant for shipment cannot go without contacts.

As to the claims by this officer that it was the same company who leased the car to the person from whom I bought the vehicle that instructed the car to be stopped, I have to tell you that the vehicle was sold by Leistershire police with no liabilities whatsoever. It is worrying that the police sold a car and turn to suspect that the new owner has stollen it.

I have obtained documentary evidence of prove including police receipts on the purchase of the car..
May I have any document on my car that prompted this action please.

Yours faithfully,

Peter Anthony
