section 8 (4) immigration act 1971 Visa Issue

The authority would like to / has responded by postal mail to this request.

Dear Home Office,

I am just about to resign from the HM forces. I have served in the Reserve Forces for 9 year about 8 years ago. I was issued section 8 (4) immigration act 1971 Exempt from all immigration control. I was also given a letter from the HO saying that I will be exempt for the duration of my service. I was checking to change the visa option I found that in 2014 article issued by the HO states only Regular force can apply for ILR. I am kind of lost at the moment. Don`t know what to do. I been in UK over 10 years. I am also have running business in UK which employees few full time staff. Is this law a new thing or can I still apply with the normal option or Apply under 10 year long visa option. Please help.

Yours faithfully,
A

Dear Wayne ,

Many thanks for your replay. I have consulted solicitor and barrister both acknowledge it should be fine either way as my letter and passport stamp from HO clearly says your are exempt for the duration of my service.

The link you sent for HM force on discharge does not say any where about the Reserve it just says HM Force So I think it should be fine. Hopefully it should be straight forward don`t want any trouble... :(. If there is anything else I need to do please let me know. many Thanks ... Have a nice weekend .. Weather seems to good next 2 days ... :) ;)

Yours sincerely,
A
