Section 44 of the Terrorism Act 2000
To whom it may concern,
1) I am interested in the specific legislation that was included in the now revoked 'section 44' of the Terrorism Act 2000. I am particularly interested in the exact wording of this stop and search regulation as it was when the legislation was passed initially.
2) I am also interested in the number of times that 'section 44' was invoked or enforced by the police/home secretary.
3) Finally, I am interested in the number of successful convictions gained from the direct use of stop and search powers listed in Section 44 of the Terrorism Act.
Yours Sincerely,
Thomas Brewer

This request was handled directly between myself and the home office - they refused to acknowledge my request and respond any further. The request was initially refused and was escalated to the ICO who ruled in my favour. At this point I received an apology from the Home Office and the information requested.
