Dear Freedom of Information,
Cleveland Police, I'm asking that if you would do research for the Cleveland Police Vehicle Fleet 1989-2006 under Section 12 (1) of Freedom of Information. If so, then how do I pay since I'm fromthe United States? Hope this clears up any confusion.

Yours sincerely,

Ivanel Bernard Elong

Freedom of Information, Cleveland Police

Dear Mr Elong

In response to your email the request you have submitted is not valid under Section 8(1)(c) of the Freedom of Information Act which states "describe the information requested" and as your request asks "do research for the Cleveland Police Fleet 1989-2006" this is not describing what information you are requesting.

Until we know what information you are requesting we cannot say whether we hold the information or can provide this and if it can be provided within the time limit specified. If it cannot be provided within the time limit we would then refuse this under Section 12(1) and at that point you would ask for how much it would cost for the information to be provided.

Therefore to enable us to respond to your request please provide the details requested above or alternatively indicate how we may otherwise assist you. Unfortunately we are unable to respond to your request until we have received this information. Please note this request is not considered as valid until the required information is received, and it is at this point that the clock starts.

If you would like to discuss this matter please do not hesitate to contact this office.
