Dear Boston Borough Council,

Can you please provide the information on and where appropriate
copies of relevant documents of:

1) What land for allotments or growing spaces, both private and
public, have you requested in the last 5 years?

A site known as "Cookoo Land", which was formerly allotments has been
brought back into use as allotments. The first phase (58 plots) has
recently been implemented.
2) From the land requested in the last 5 years, what land has not
been put into use for your residents to grow on?

None
3) How many planning applications do you currently have which could
be used to make a Section 106 requirement for land to grow on?

None

4) What targets are in place to increase the use of Section 106 to
provide more land for your residents to grow on?

None

5) What is currently being done in your borough to provide
alternative land for residents to grow on?

Discussions are being held with another owner of land which was formerly
allotments to bring some of the site back into use as allotments. Also
funding has been secured from the Lincolnshire Health and Well-being Fund
to create new growing spaces to promote grow your own. Initial work
undertaken with partners to identify sites and potential comunity groups
that are intersted in the project. The funding has to be spent in the
areas of the Borough with the highest deprivation, which tends to be parts
of Boston Town.

This is a request made pursuant to the Freedom of Information Act
2000.

Yours faithfully,

Dolly Theis
