Scratchcard prize distribution over £500 – FOI request
Dear Gambling Commission,
Under the Freedom of Information Act, I would like to request the following information regarding National Lottery scratchcard games over the past 5 years:
1. The total number of scratchcards printed and distributed per game.
2. The total number and value of prizes over £500, and how many of those prizes were actually claimed by players.
3. A geographic breakdown (by region) of where prizes over £500, £1,000, and £10,000 were won.
4. A list of scratchcard games that were closed before the top prizes were claimed.
5. Whether all top prizes in each scratchcard game are guaranteed to be distributed before the game is closed.
This request is made in the public interest. There is increasing concern among regular players that high-value prizes (£500 and above) are either extremely rare or not truly available in public circulation.
I kindly ask for a response within the 20 working day period as outlined under FOIA regulations.
Yours faithfully,
Fusun
