Scottish domiciled students

We're waiting for elizabeth thomson to read recent responses and update the status.

elizabeth thomson

Dear SRUC,

I would like to request the following information under FOISA:

How many students were admitted to your institution to begin studying an undergraduate degree in each of the last 6 academic years?

How many Scottish domiciled students were admitted to your institution to study an undergraduate degree in each of the last six academic years? I would like this information broken down by degree programme.

How many Scottish domiciled students from ‘Scotland’s most deprived backgrounds’ as defined by the Scottish Government’s widening access policy were admitted to your institution to study an undergraduate degree in each of the last 6 academic years? I would like this information broken down by degree programme.

If you require clarification please contact me promptly.

Yours faithfully,

elizabeth thomson

Devon Taylor, SRUC

Dear Elizabeth

I have been asked for the following clarification to your FOI.

1. Does your request just relate to degree registered year 1 students? The first two years of our degree programmes usually comprise an HND and so year 1 cohorts can be HNC, HND and degree registered and are taught together.

2. Should it only relate to programmes where there is degree provision (so exclude programmes where there is only HNC or HND)?

Thank you
Devon

Dear Devon,

Thanks for your email. I would only like information relating to students being given a place to study a degree programme, and only the number of new students being admitted to an undergraduate degree programme. So whichever year they are entering at, as i realise some will start in year 1 and others will leapfrog into a higher year to begin with.

Yours sincerely,

elizabeth thomson

Apologies Devon,

Just to clarify, as this is another question that has come up with a couple of institutions, by 'admitted' i refer to places actually taken up by students, so the number of students registering each year.

Yours faithfully,

elizabeth thomson
