Dear Prime Minister,
I am writing to make an open government request for all the information to which I am entitled under the Freedom of Information Act 2000.
Please send me:
Any reports conducted with relation to Scottish Atlantic Margin oil and gas potential made in the last 5 years.
I would like the above information to be provided to me in electronic format but paper based correspondence would be acceptable.
If this request is too wide or unclear, I would be grateful if you could contact me as I understand that under the Act, you are required to advise and assist requesters. If any of this information is already in the public domain, please can you direct me to it, with page references and URLs if necessary.
If the release of any of this information is prohibited on the grounds of breach of confidence, I ask that you supply me with copies of the confidentiality agreement and remind you that information should not be treated as confidential if such an agreement has not been signed.
I understand that you are required to respond to my request within the 20 working days after you receive this letter. I would be grateful if you could confirm in writing that you have received this request.
Should the government have documents classified as secret on the matter, then I would like you to advise why such information is not being released.
Please be advised that due to the subject matter being requested, if the governments response indicates that there is information and it is unwilling to provide it, legal options may be used to compel its release.
An exception under the £600 cost rule will be deemed as unacceptable and will result in immediate escalation through established processes.
I look forward to hearing from you.

Under our section 16 duty we informed you that its was more appropriate to
direct your request to the Department for
Business, Energy & Industrial Strategy. You requested that your request be
forwarded on them and we indicated that would be inappropriate and advised
you to open a new request. We have have taken no further action in
relation to your request. If you wish for Cabinet Office and the Prime
Minsters to search own records for the information you seek please could
you refine your request to a particular team or policy that is the
responsibility of Cabinet Office to allow us to undertake searches. Detail
regarding our policy areas can be found at
Please note we will not be undertaking an internal review as there is
currently no response to review.
