Dear Education Scotland,

Under the Freedom of Information (Scotland) Act 2002, please provide records held regarding assessments made on the potential for digital budgeting apps and mobile banking to improve financial literacy and money management skills among adults.

Specifically, I am interested in information the Department holds on:

- The possible benefits identified from budgeting/banking apps in assisting people to better understand finances.

- Any analysed links between app usage and improved financial capabilities/literacy.

- Whether fintech has been considered among strategies for strengthening adult financial literacy and independence.

Please provide relevant assessments, meeting minutes, research or policy documents.

Yours faithfully,

Stephen Campbell
