Dear City of Edinburgh Council,

An article in the Edinburgh News[1] dated 4th June 2011 stated that the Scientology cult had applied for a street traders licence in Edinburgh.

Is this correct?

If so, please provide:

1) A copy of the application, and any other documents or materials submitted with it.

2) A copy of the Council's decision on this matter.

3) Any information (such as notes, memos, minutes, agenda, internal and external communications) which documents the Council's decision-making process in this matter.

4) Any other information which the Council took into account in coming to its decision.

Please send the information to me in electronic format at this email address.

Many thanks for your assistance with this matter.

Yours faithfully,

William Thackeray

Dear Mr Thackery,

I refer to your attached query which has been forwarded to me for
response.

I confirm that an application for street traders licence was made in May
by the Hubbard Foundation Scotland however this application was
subsequently withdrawn by the applicants. There is therefore no current
application in respect of which the Council is required enter into a
decision-making process.

William Thackeray

Dear City of Edinburgh Council,

Please pass this on to the person who conducts Freedom of Information reviews.

I am writing to request an internal review of City of Edinburgh Council's handling of my FOI request 'Scientology - street traders licence'.

My reason for requesting an internal review is:

- Personal information could be redacted.

- Given that the Hubbard Foundation is not a natural person, it cannot have personal information and so the exemption does not apply to it.

A full history of my FOI request and all correspondence is available on the Internet at this address:
