I write to acknowledge and apologise for the delay in responding to your
request relating to Schools using temporary accommodation. As you know,
the council is required to respond to all requests for information under
the Freedom of Information Act within 20 working days, unless a ‘qualified
exception’ applies that requires the consideration of the Public Interest.

 

Walsall Council takes its obligations under this legislation extremely

Further to your request for information about Schools using temporary
accommodation, I can tell you the following:

 

That under the FOI Act the information regarding Q1 is exempt from
disclosure under the provisions of section 21. Section 21 sets out that
the local authority need not provide information under the FOI Act where
the information requested is ‘reasonably accessible’ by other means.

 

1) The total number of schools in the local authority.

This information is publicly available using this link,

selecting All Establishment data, and downloading the establishment fields
csv file.  This file can then be used to filter to Walsall and the
relevant information selected.
