I think the figure supplied for part 2 must be incorrect. Its approximately equal to 100% of schools in England. Most schools I am aware of do not update their profile.

Dear Department for Education,

Many thanks for your reply and the figures supplied.

I am absolutely astonished by the answer you have given to Question
2, as this figure is very close to 100% of all maintained schools
in England. My experience tells me that MOST schools do NOT
currently update their profile.

So I would ask that you please take another look at that figure and
if you still feel that it is broadly correct, that you elucidate on
the method used to count the "Total number of schools which updated
their own school profile in the same period", including the
definition you use for including a school in that figure.

Yours faithfully,

Feargal Hogan

Dear Mr Hogan

Thank you for your recent email querying the number of schools which have
updated their school profile data.

Apologies, you are correct. I had supplied you with the top level figures
and not the break down of those schools which had updated their profile.

The data is as follows:

Of the 22,318 schools:

5,044 published school profile data
1,558 edited their data but did not publish it
15,716 neither edited nor published their school profile data.

I hope this is helpful.

Kind regards

Stephen Bruce
