Dear Bexley Borough Council,

I would be grateful if you could provide me a copy of, or a link to, your most recent School Place Planning strategy document. I would also be grateful if you can provide me details of any consultations on proposed new school provision currently live or in planning.

Yours faithfully,

John Dye

Freedom of Information, Bexley Borough Council

Dear Mr Dye

Freedom of Information Request

I am writing to let you know how we are handling Freedom of Information requests during the coronavirus pandemic, and to seek your assistance at this difficult time.

Impact of the Coronavirus on our services

We are working closely with central government and our partners to protect and provide support to our most vulnerable residents during this crisis. This includes assisting the NHS in caring for those affected by the virus. Many of our critical services have moved to extended hours of work for seven days of the week to meet the demands imposed by the pandemic. We are deploying officers from other areas to the most critical services and we are entirely focused on this approach. In addition, we are ensuring that as our own staff are unwell and/or self-isolating, our resources are in the services where they are most needed.

This is a rapidly changing situation. Some of our services have already been impacted by the coronavirus and will be reduced in the coming weeks as we increase support to the most vulnerable in our community.
For more information about what we are doing to manage the coronavirus, please visit our website.

How this affects you

Due to the need to divert resources to critical services, we would like to ask that you consider withdrawing your request and resubmit it to us when the coronavirus outbreak is over.

In the meantime, please check our Disclosure log for the information you require. The log contains a great deal of information and you may find it answers your request. It contains our responses to information requests that we have received over the last three years.

If we do not hear from you within the next 10 working days, we will assume that you wish to continue with your request and will log it for a response within 20 days. Although we will try to respond to you, it is likely that there may be a delay in our response, especially if your request relates to social care. If you are unhappy with this, you can approach the Information Commissioner’s Office for further assistance.

Alternatively, if you have any questions about this email, please contact us at [Bexley Borough Council request email].

Thank you for your patience and understanding during this difficult time.

Yours sincerely,
