Dear Mr Dye

I am writing to you in reply to your Freedom of Information Act (FOIA)
request to Nottinghamshire County Council. I have the following
information.

Please find attached Pupil Place Planning and School Capital Policy,
November 2017. This policy is due for review in 2020/21, however, given
the on-going issues with respect to COVID-19 this may be delayed. Also,
please find attached the prospectus for the Teal Close Free School
presumption which though closed is still awaiting sponsor confirmation by
the Secretary of State for Education.

In terms of consultations live or planned; there are no consultations
planned or in preparation currently.

The most recent Free School Presumption for a new school that was subject
to a consultation is that for the new school at Rivendell, Teal Close,
Colwick, NG14 5HN. The above presumption process was live from 23/09/2019
closing at 5pm on 15/11/19. Six multi academy trusts (MATs) responded to
the DfE approved prospectus and submitted proposals to the County Council.
These were forwarded to the DfE immediately after the closure of the
presumption.

NCC children and Young Peoples Committee, supported by officers of the
Education Learning and Skills Service and a representative of the DfE, met
on 18th February 2020 to consider presentations made by 3 Multi Academy
Trusts as potential sponsors of the new Free School. To date, NCC has not
received confirmation from the Secretary of State as to which of the MAT
applicants has been successful in securing the role as sponsor of the new
free school. This is expected shortly. It is anticipated that the school
will open in September 2021.

Any future free school presumptions, as and when they arise will be
subject to the same processes and will be promoted through the County
Council's website and through the New Schools Network, which serves to
promote free school presumptions nationally.

If you have any queries or concerns then please contact me. Please
remember to quote the reference number above in any future communications.

If you are unhappy with the service you have received in relation to your
request and wish to make a complaint or request a review of our decision,
you should write to the Team Manager, Complaints and Information Team,
