Please provide information on the latest 4 academic cycles.

Please find the requested information in the attached spreadsheet, titled:
FOI request – F513.19-20.

Data notes:

·       The University has provided data for the four years from 2016/17
until 2019/20 admissions cycles as the 2020/21 cycle is not yet complete.

·       The details do not include resit information so all data is taken
from the summer exam period of relevant year.

·       Please note that students who come onto any of the courses can at
the end of year 1 and again at the end of year two transfer to a different
course. Some students even change back or change 2 or 3 times therefore it
has not been possible for the University to track students from start to
finish in the way you are asking for the information when you ask for  the
Overall BEng Systems Engineering and Overall BEng Electrical & Electronic
engineering as this task would require manually tracking individual
students which would exceed the appropriate costs limit under S.12 FOIA
2000.

·       Please also note that where the University has stated the value as
‘<’ it declines to provide the actual figure on the grounds that the
numbers are very small and could potentially lead to the identification of
individuals, which may place the University in breach of the General Data
Protection Regulation 2016 and the Data Protection Act 2018. The
University is relying on the exemption under section 40(2) of the Freedom
of Information Act 2000 in this regard.

I trust that this information will be helpful to you, but if you are
dissatisfied with the way in which your request has been handled you can
request an internal review within one month of our response and, in the
first instance, you are advised to follow the procedure outlined here:
