Thank you for your request for information, which was received on
11/02/2025 12:57 . You requested:   

I would like to see a breakdown of which Software is used by schools to
return the school census to the department (i.e. their MIS Supplier) as at
the Autumn (October) 2024 School Census please.

Please could you provide the following information in an excel spreadsheet
containing the following fields:

1.      LA Number
2.      School ESTAB code
3.      Local authority Name
4.      School Unique Reference Number (URN)
5.      School name
6.      Establishment Type (ie. community School, nursery, voluntary aided
school etc)
7.      Establishment phase (i.e. primary, secondary)
8.      MIS Software Used
9.      Numbers of pupils on roll

Please provide this information from the Spring (January) 2025 School
Census.”

I have dealt with your request under the Freedom of Information Act 2000
(“the Act”).

In order to identify and locate the information that you have asked for I
require some further information from you. In particular, it would be
useful to know whether you require this information from the October 2024
census (as stated in your opening paragraph) or the January 2025 census
(as stated in your closing paragraph).

The information from the October 2024 is already available and can be
downloaded from [1]School MIS Supplier from Autumn 2024 Census - a Freedom
of Information request to Department for Education - WhatDoTheyKnow. The
information from the January 2025 census won’t be available before the
week commencing 17 March 2025 and the number of pupils on roll won’t be
available until after the publication of the [2]schools, pupils and their
characteristics statistical first release in June 2025.

If you are unhappy with the way your request has been handled, you should
