1. Does the authority provide schools with internet filtering
services?

2. Please provide the name of the authority's internet filtering
software.

3. What is the annual cost to schools of the authority's internet
filtering services?

4. What is the pricing structure of the authority's internet
filtering services - e.g. £ per user, etc.

5. Please provide a list of schools who have opted out of the
authority's internet filtering services.

6. If possible, please provide a list of the internet filtering
systems used by the schools who have opted out, and the associated
cost of their chosen system.

I am writing to request an internal review of Barking and Dagenham Borough Council's handling of my FOI request 'School internet filtering'.

Your response on November 13th stated that you would reply by December 11th. However, no response has been received. By law you were required to respond within 20 working days. Please respond to my original request as soon as possible, and also explain why you have not complied with the Freedom of Information Act.

I can confirm that the information requested is not held by the London Borough of Barking
and Dagenham.

All maintained schools
are able to purchase internet filtering services and broadband services from whom
they wish.   
The LA supports some schools in the use of the software or tools purchased via the
London Grid for Learning. 
Schools purchasing this service from other providers do at their own discretion and with no input from the the
Council.

 

If you are not satisfied with the way your request has been dealt
with, you can request a review within 40 days of our response to you, 
by e-mail, or in writing to the FOI Team, 2nd Floor  Roycraft House, 15
Linton Road, Barking, IG11 8HE.  

If you are still not satisfied following the internal review, you
can complain to the Information commissioner, [1]www.ico.org.uk
