Dear Aditya

Further to your email of 24 January 2019, which I have treated as a
Freedom of Information request, please find below our response to the
information that you requested.

Query:

Can you please provide information on the scale (value, cost, quantity
etc.) of lost equipment (high value and high worth assets) for Dorset &
Wiltshire Fire and Rescue Service?

Additional information:

- Time-frame: Information for 2017 and 2018

- High value and high worth assets: High value >£500 or of High worth =
importance in fire and rescue services

- Lost equipment means missing from inventory

Response:

Dorset & Wiltshire Fire and Rescue (DWFRS) had a few items of operational
equipment that were reported missing during 2017 and 2018. All of these
items were of low value (less than £500), however there were two items
that were of some importance;

o Holmatro Hydraulic Hose x1           (£150)
o Powerheart AED G3 x1                    (£300)

These items would have been replaced on the appliances as a matter of
urgency as soon as they had been reported missing.

DWFRS have been using an Asset Management System for several years which
has aided in dramatically reducing the number of items of lost operational
equipment annually.

I trust this answers your queries, however, if you are unhappy with the
service you have received in relation to your request and wish to make a
complaint or request a review of the decision, you should write to the
Information Management Team, Dorset & Wiltshire Fire and Rescue Service,
Five Rivers Health and Wellbeing Centre, Hulse Road, Salisbury, Wiltshire
SP1 3NR within 40 working days of receipt of the original decision.
Alternatively you can email [1][DWFRS request email].

If you are not content with the outcome of your complaint or review, you
may apply directly to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) for a
decision.  Generally the ICO cannot make a decision unless you have
exhausted the complaints procedure at the Fire Authority.  The ICO can be
contacted at:
