SANGS monitoring guidance for local planning authorities

Paul Tucker made this Freedom of Information request to Natural England

Automatic anti-spam measures are in place for this older request. Please let us know if a further response is expected or if you are having trouble responding.

Natural England did not have the information requested.

Dear Natural England,

The principle of SANGS provision to reduce visitor pressure from new development on SPA/SAC sites is well established.

Can you please ...

1) Provide details of any guidance that Natural England publish with regard to monitoring the effectiveness of SANGS mitigation. In other words guidance that would help to establish whether SANGS are, or have been, successful in detracting visitors away from protected SPA/SAC sites.

2) Provide details of any specific guidance provided to Mid Sussex District Council on the monitoring of its strategic East Court and Ashplats Wood SANGS established in 2015 to detract visitors away from the Ashdown Forest

Yours faithfully,

Paul Tucker
