Having changed to a new MIS system in January 2022 Not all of the
information can be supplied in the format requested. However, what I can
provide is the following:

Uniform related issues since 2017-18. The behaviour records are recorded
as incorrect uniform.

2017-18- 11 incidents

2018-19- 65 incidents

2019-20- 59 incidents

2020-21- 80 incidents

2021-21- 160 incidents 

• Whilst maintaining high standards of uniform which was relaunched as
we moved into our school building, we have not excluded any students
for uniform issues.
• We work closely with students and families through clear communication
through Newsletters and assemblies and visual examples so that
breaches of uniform are minimised.
• In addition, we have invested in a supply of uniform items of
different sizes which students can loan for the day so that there
isn't a need to implement further sanctions.
• Where students have failed to wear the correct uniform repeatedly a
small number have been placed in detention. 
• 44 detentions were issued for uniform issues across the school
population of 1540 in 2022.
• We use the MIS called Arbor and have developed the system to record
incorrect uniform types and this data can be explored and analysed by
achievement coordinators and other middle and senior leaders.

Dear Plantsbrook School, Sutton Coldfield,

Under the FOI Act I would like to request the following information
regarding sanctions and other punishment (e.g. detention, isolation,
withdrawal of privileges, expulsion, exclusion) issued by the school in
relation to uniform.

1) Please provide a breakdown, for each of the last five academic years,
including the current academic year, of all punishments issued for
misconduct relating to uniform (e.g. wearing wrong uniform, not wearing
uniform, wearing forbidden items, etc). For each incident please provide:
The nature of the punishment
The nature of the misconduct
Whether it related to school uniform or sports kit or another aspect of
uniform policy

If you are unable to provide a breakdown of each incident, please provide
summary totals for each academic year with the same breakdown.
If you are unable to provide annual totals, please provide details of the
system used to track student behaviour and how that is monitored by staff,
e.g. how they are able to identify those students who have been sanctioned
most often.
