Salt + Grit Stocks Held by Month, Deliveries Received

Kwame Opoku made this Freedom of Information request to London Borough of Barking and Dagenham Council

This request has been closed to new correspondence. Contact us if you think it should be reopened.

The request was partially successful.

Dear Barking & Dagenham Borough Council,

Please provide an XLS (not XLSX) Spreadsheet which contains details of the stocks of salt / grit held for each month over the past 7 years.

Column Headings:

DATE
STOCK at start of month
DELIVERY during month
STOCK at end of month
ROAD LENGTH - total
ROAD LENGTH - borough roads
ROAD LENGTH - TfL roads

DELIVERY column to include sub columns for each delivery during month - DATE, AMOUNT
Where a delivery is say 10 lorries of 30 tons, that to be made clear - the individual lorry movements are not required

Rows:

2004 - January
then every month to
2010 - December

It is anticipated that there will be little change in the road length columns, but some new roads are likely to have opened, or come under or left council or TfL control

Please clarify how dual carriageways are counted for the purpose of determining total road length.

Yours faithfully,

Kwame Opoku

Dear Mr Opoku

Thank you for your e-mail received 04 January 2011 requesting information
regarding a spreadsheet for gritting purposes.

Please be advised that we are claiming exemption under Section 39 of the
Freedom of Information act and have processed your request and released
this information under the Environmental Information Regulations Act.

As requested, please find below and attached information in response to
your enquiry.

Q1) Please provide an XLS 9not XLSX) spreadsheet which contains details of
the stock of salt / grit held for each month over the past 7 years.

A1) Information requested is provided for the years 2009-2010 & 2010-2011,
unfortunately we do not hold records for years previous to this. All roads
lengths quoted are for the road network that is covered as part of our
Winter Maintenance Service.

Q2) Please determine how dual carriageways are counted for the purpose of
determining total road length.

A2) All roads in Barking & Dagenham are single lane carriageway and as
such no dual carriageways are calculated in our road lengths totals.

I hope that I have been able to provide you with the information you
require and that you are satisfied with the way that I have dealt with
your request. However if for any reason you are not, you can make a
complaint by writing to the Corporate Complaints Team, 2^nd Floor, 15

Full details of how to do this will be made available on request.

Kind regards

Jacquie Harris
