Salary details of directors

I am currently undertaking research into university structures and pay. I have located some information publicly, but I would like to enquire about the salaries of some of your directors. In particular I would like to know the salary (to the nearest £500) of the follow posts:

Director of Estates
Director of Student Services
Director of IT
Director of Procurement

I can confirm that Coventry University holds this information. However,
this information is exempt under section(s) 40(2) of the Freedom of
Information Act.

 

This is an absolute exemption and therefore there is no requirement to
consider the public interest.

I am writing to request an internal review of Coventry University's handling of my FOI request 'Salary details of directors'.

I was not requesting any personal information, so I do not understand how you applied the section 40 exemption. All other public bodies readily publish this information, so why is Coventry University exempt? I would appreciate a full review. Please note that redaction is an option, if necessary. To clarify, I do not require any names or exact salary. Just circa salary per director please.
