Dear Oxford Brookes University,

I request the following information under the Freedom of Information Act:

1) Breakdown of expected salaries, or average salaries for graduates from undergraduate degrees in years 2008/2009 to 2013/2014 included, by subject. If average salaries for recent EU (non-UK) or international (non-EU) graduates are available, I would like those to be shared as well.

2) Tuition fees charged to first-year international students for undergraduate degrees in years 2008/2009 to 2013/2014 included, broken down by subject.

Yours faithfully,

Alexandra Tieghi

Dear Ms Tieghi,

Freedom of Information Act Request - our reference 2018-024.
Further to your email of 4 February 2018 asking for information from
Oxford Brookes University about expected salaries and tuition fees, I am
able to provide the following information in response to your request.

You asked for:

1) Breakdown of expected salaries, or average salaries for graduates
from undergraduate degrees in years 2008/2009 to 2013/2014 included, by
subject. If average salaries for recent EU (non-UK) or international
(non-EU) graduates are available, I would like those to be shared as
well.

Answer:

The  information is wholly based on the Destinations survey of
graduates. This means that it is not "census" data and therefore is only
an indicator of salaries rather than a true average. The survey does
have a reasonable response rate for home students however I would say
that International and EU (non UK) students are less well represented.
What information we do hold is attached.  Please note that some figures
have been suppressed due to the low number of respondents to the
survey.  This is in line with section 40 of the Freedom of
Information Act which  by virtue of section 40 (3) (a) (i) stipulates
that personal data should not be disclosed if it breaches any of the
data protection principles as set out in the Data Protection Act 1998.
In this case the low numbers would mean that individuals could be
identified and therefore breach Principle 1 (Personal data should be
processed fairly and lawfully). The individuals concerned would have a
reasonable expectation that their salaries would not be made public by
the University.

2) Tuition fees charged to first-year international students for
undergraduate degrees in years 2008/2009 to 2013/2014 included, broken
down by subject.
