Dear Home Office,
On 13th September 2018 the home secretary, Sajid Javid, said: “Recent cases involving sick children made it clear to me that our position on cannabis-related medicinal products was not satisfactory.
“Following advice from two sets of independent advisors, I have taken the decision to reschedule cannabis-derived medicinal products – meaning they will be available on prescription.
“This will help patients with an exceptional clinical need."
1: Please provide me with a copy of the Home Offices definition of "an exceptional clinical need"
2: Please provide me with a list of the exceptional medical/clinical conditions the Home Office will be authorising the medical profession to treat with cannabis based medicines.
3: Please provide me with copies of the guidelines available to GP's/medical practitioners to enable them to assess whether or not a patient qualifies for a cannabis based prescription to treat their illnesses.
4: Please provide me with a list of the types and brand names of the cannabis based medicines to be made available on prescription in the UK.
5: Please provide me with evidence that your independent advisors (or anyone else) are more qualified to judge whether or not cannabis would be effective to someone who has been successfully treating their ailments with cannabis (with overwhelmingly proven possitive results) for many years with strains suited to their particular needs.
6: Please provide me with the legislation that covers an individual should their medical condition deteriorate after medicinal cannabis has been refused despite the individual insisting that they have been successfully self medicating using cannabis (with proven outstanding results) for many years.
7: Now that medicinal canaabis has been legalised in the UK for medicinal use. Please provide me with legislation preventing a person from obtaining a private cannabis prescription from a registered GP in say, Holland and bringing their prescription home to the UK.

Dear Home Office,
"The Government does not hold a specific definition of ‘an exceptional clinical need’. "
I feel this statement sums up the dire state of this government department!
Shame on you.
