Thank you for your request for Information, received at this office on 08 February, 2013, in which you requested details of the following:

Information regarding force use of stingers

Your request will now be considered and you will receive a response within the statutory timescale of 20 working days as defined by the Act, subject to the information not being exempt or containing a reference to a third party. In some circumstances Humberside Police may be unable to achieve this deadline. If this is likely you will be informed and given a revised time-scale at the earliest opportunity.

There may be a fee payable for the retrieval, collation and provision of the information you request. If this is the case you will be informed and the 20 working day timescale will be suspended until we receive payment from you. If you chose not to make a payment then your request will remain unanswered.

Some requests may also require either full or partial transference to another public authority in order to answer your query in the fullest possible way. Again, you will be informed if this is the case.

We anticipate being able to provide you with the information that you have requested on or before 08 March, 2013.

To help Information Compliance Unit meet your request could you please provide us with further information?

Professional Standards have come back to me and asked for details of the local article that claimed 178 allegations of corruption were made against this force between 2008 and 2011. Can you please supply any reference to this article and where we can have access to it?

After receiving your reply, your request will then be considered and you will receive the information requested within the statutory timescale as defined by the Act, subject to the information not being exempt or containing a reference to a third party.

This is to inform you that information relating to your request has been considered and a relevant response has been attached.

The full details of your request are:

In 2006/2007 as part of a National baseline inspection by the HMIC
of Professional Standards Departments, Humberside was one of only 2
out of 43 forces to receive a 'poor' grading.

1. Please provide a copy of any documentation with regards to
action taken to improve the grading of the department.

2. In a local news article, it was claimed that 178 allegations of
corruption were made against Humberside Police between 2008 and
2011.

Please provide an update with regards to the same statistics from
the period between 2011 and to the date of this request.
From 2011, there have been 156 allegations that could be corruption related
