Graham Mitchell

Dear MOPAC FOI,

I have accidentally closed my FOI as "successful". My mistake but as far as I am concerned you haven't yet provided the information I requested.

Regards

Yours sincerely,

Graham Mitchell

Dear MOPAC FOI,

Can I please have a full reply without further delay?

The information I have asked for should be readily available as it involves public money. Why does it take so long for you to reply or, is it the SNB involved (Croydon) is withholding information?

Yours sincerely,

Graham Mitchell

MOPAC FOI, Mayor's Office for Policing and Crime

Dear Graham

Thank you for your request for information which the Mayor’s Office for
Policing And Crime (MOPAC) received on June 10. I apologise sincerely for
the extended delay in providing our response and thank you for your
patience.

I can confirm that your request has been being handled under the Freedom
of Information Act 2000 and that MOPAC does hold some information relating
to your request.

You requested:

Please let me have details of the funding made available (before and after
the admin deduction) to Croydon SNB in the years 2017/18, 2018/19,
2019/20. 2020/21, 2021/22, 2022/23 and 2023/24. Please also let me have
details of the name of the recipient organisations who applied for funding
and the amounts bestowed to each successful applicant in each of the years
above. Please let me have details of any funding which was unspent in any
of the years above.

Our response:

Please note that this information requested goes back over a number of
years, and due to staff turnover at both, MOPAC and the London Borough of
Croydon, there are a number of gaps in the records we hold and in
the retention of knowledge from this time period. There have been
significant improvements to our processes around record keeping and
finance systems in recent years. Croydon Council is continuing to
investigate its own records to ensure all payments for SNB projects have
been claimed from MOPAC and paid to projects. You may wish to make a
request to Croydon Council for any further information, and for any
information MOPAC does not hold.

You can make request via their website at [1]Make an information request |
Croydon Council.

Each year Safer Neighborhood Boards (SNBs) in each borough of London are
allocated a funding allowance, which includes money for projects and a
ringfenced amount for administration. SNBs will not always claim the full
amount of funding that is available to them.

·        In years 17/18, 18/19, 19/20 and 20/21 £33,073 was available for
Croydon SNB.

·        In years 21/22, 22/23 and 23/24 £23,151 was available for Croydon
SNB.

Our finance records show that the sum of £20,723.00 was paid to the London
Borough of Croydon in this year in relation to the SNB. However, a signed
grant agreement for the time period cannot be located, so we cannot
confirm which projects and organisations were funded by the SNB.

Our finance records show that only £12,350 was paid to the London Borough
of Croydon in relation to the SNB this year based on the invoices
received.  In addition, the funding for two of these projects (as
identified by *) was claimed in 22/23.  We are working with Croydon
Council to establish if there are any other projects that went ahead that
are still owed funding.

2020/21

Our finance records show that the sum of £30,073.00 was paid to the London
Borough of Croydon in this year in relation to the SNB.  However, a signed
grant agreement for the time period cannot be located, so we cannot
confirm which projects and organisations were funded by the SNB.

2021/22

The board was not functional and only claimed admin funding that was
outstanding from 19/20 when the Board was functional.
