Dear Northamptonshire Safeguarding Children Board,

Please advise how many complaints you have received in the last five years regarding the potential(mis)treatment of disabled children within schools in the Northamptonshire area?

Please advise how many of these complaints have resulted in investigations being undertaken by the Local Authority Designated Officer and how many have been delegated to a less senior member of staff.

Please advise the minimum level of qualification held by staff undertaking/co-ordinating investigations of abuse/mistreatment on behalf of the
Local Authority Designated Officer in Northamptonshire.

In order for such an investigation to be considered "thorough", what are the minimum requirements? Please Specify if key people should be spoken with and the correct date investigated?

Yours faithfully,

C. Buckley

Dear Freedom of Information,

Further to your request for clarification, I am asking if in order for an investigation to be deemed to be "thorough" does the correct date of an incident not need to be investigated?
Is this not a minimum standard for an investigation into an incident? i.e can the school choose to investigate an alternative date within its' investigation and still have this investigation deemed as "thorough" by the safeguarding board?

Yours sincerely,

C Buckley
