RWM Feedback,

Dear Mr Lee,

Ref: FOI 2144

Thank you for your information request received on 17 August for the
following:

[1] When did workers at RWM first receive training or advice in respects
of the process of applying for development consent for geological disposal
infrastructure?

[2] By whom, or how was such training or advice given?

I have treated your request under the Freedom of Information Act. I
confirm that RWM holds information related to your request and this is
provided below.

RWM has not arranged or attended specific training on the process of
applying for Development Consent for Geological Disposal Infrastructure.
RWM has recruited staff with relevant knowledge, skills and experience of
the development consent order (DCO) process. Staff are expected to
maintain and enhance their skills through ongoing learning and
professional development activities.

RWM takes advice from a range of sources in the application of the DCO
process for geological disposal infrastructure, for example, taking part
in lessons learned activities with consultants and other operators, and
attendance at relevant conferences. RWM maintains awareness of any changes
to the DCO process, land use planning regime and case law to ensure that
such changes are understood and addressed as necessary by RWM in
developing its own processes to prepare for future DCO applications.

If you are unhappy with the way in which RWM has dealt with your request,
you have the right to require us to review our actions and decisions. If
you wish to request a review, please reply to this email or write to me at
[1][RWM request email] within 40 working days of receipt of this
response. You will receive a full response to your request for review
within 20 working days of its receipt.

Please remember to quote ref FOI 2144 in any correspondence about this
request.

If you are not content with the outcome of the internal review, you have
the right to apply directly to the Information Commissioner for a
decision. The Information Commissioner can be contacted at:

Information Commissioner's Office
Wycliffe House
Water Lane
Wilmslow
Cheshire SK9 5AF
