Katharine Opie, Rushmoor Borough Council

Good evening Mr Dixon

I am writing in response to your Freedom of Information request asking for
the total number of complaints received by Rushmoor Borough Council
relating to vehicles during 2020.

The Pollution Team within Operational Services investigated 13 cases
relating to vehicle noise during this period. The breakdown for this was
as follows:

o Noise from vehicle repairs:  2
o Noise from delivery vehicles/cars/ refrigerated vehicles with engines
idling: 7
o Noise from car alarms sounding : 3
o Noise from a race track: 1

We would not record enquiries where we have no provision to take action
(eg general traffic noise)

I have been in contact with the Council’s  Community Safety Team. They
have advised that they have do receive concerns regarding vehicle noise
associated with car cruises and the like, but they do not record/ hold the
information you have requested.

We hope that this answers your question satisfactorily.

If you are unhappy with the reply you have received, follow the link to
the Council’s Review Procedure.
