Rubbish collection expenditure

The request was successful.

Penelope Forbes

Dear Westminster City Council,
How much has been spent on such initiatives as installing transparent sides in bins and content monitors in bins in Pimlico, compared to the cost of simply increasing the frequency of collections?

Yours faithfully,

Penelope Forbes

Dear Mr. Sweeting,
We have forwarded your answer to our FoI request to the residents concerned. Many new questions have arisen.
1. Is the £12,000 a total cost of all 100 sensors?2. What is the maintenance cost of the sensors at the 100 sites?
3. Are there any such sensors in the Pimlico area - if yes, where?
4. Do the sensors cover the entire Westminster area.
5. What is the life expectancy of these sensors?
6. In the operation of these sensors:
How is your data collected, how is the Council informed?
7. Have extra collections been triggered by these sensors? How Many? When?
Councillor Angela Harvey informed us a a recent NF meeting that Westminster Council needs to deal with the increasing rubbish problem in a new and more effective manner. This is clearly not happening yet.
For the Pimlico Grid Residents' Association.

Yours sincerely,

Penelope Forbes
