Tracey Robinson, Birmingham City Council

Dear Diane

I am writing in respect of your recent enquiry for information held by the
Authority under the provisions of the Freedom of Information Act 2000:

Under the FOI Act 2000, I would like to request the following

information, for the period of time between the programme's

implementation to the current day, preferably in a spreadsheet

     format:

     1) number of schools, academies and consequently, teachers in those

schools that have applied for the Help Employee Assistance and

StaffCare programme (without including names or personal

     information)

     2) number of face-to-face counselling hours that have been used,

broken down by school and teacher; please provide the data on a

monthly (if possible) basis or yearly basis, but avoiding

disclosing names when specifying how many hours of counselling have

individual teachers received (replacing names with a string of

numbers or deleting the names from the column would be perfect)

     3) number of phone calls to the 'immediate telephone crisis

intervention and critical incident support' service, broken down by

month (ideally) or year and the outcome of the phone call (e.g.

ambulance has been sent to the caller's address, caller has

     received counselling hours, etc,)

     4) and last, the yearly expenditure of running the scheme, broken

down by money allocation (for which service in the scheme are the

money being used) and the sourcing of the money

Please see response below:

Employee relations do not hold this information . The Employee support
assistance is something that schools buy into direct and employees may
contact confidentially. They do not buy the service through us. You will
need to contact Help directly.

If you have any information which may assist us in determining or locating
any missed information, we would be grateful if you would contact us with
details of this information, so that we can conduct a further search.

If you are not satisfied with the response you may ask for an internal
review.  If subsequently you are not satisfied with the Council's decision
you may apply to the Information Commissioner for a decision.  Generally,
the ICO cannot make a decision unless you have exhausted the complaints
procedure provided by the Council.  The Information Commissioner can be
contacted at the following address:
