Dear Ms Andrews

LBH/4294415

Freedom of Information Act Request

I thank you for your email dated the 12^th May.

You have requested Right to Buy sales data from the 1^st January 2011.
Since this date, there has been a number of changes to the maximum
discount which has had an effect on the sales figures. The last change to
the maximum discount came into effect on the 6^th April. This increased
the maximum discount in London to £103,900.  No sales have been completed
since this date to qualify for the increased discount.

As we record the sales in our database, it adjusts the sales figures to
take account of the discount in operation at the current time. As a
result, we cannot readily access the individual sale price and discount in
operation at the date of the sale for those completions that took place
prior to the 21^st July 2014, being the date of the previous increase.
These would need to be extracted manually from the database and adjusted
to take account of the discount in operation at the date of the sale.

Section 12 of the Act allows public authorities to refuse requests for
information where the cost of dealing with them would exceed the
appropriate limit, which for local government is set at £450. This
represents the estimated cost of one person spending 18 hours in
determining whether the department holds the information, locating,
retrieving and extracting the information. It would take in excess of 18
hours to manually extract the information you required and therefore,
on this basis your request under the Freedom of Information Act is
refused.

I have provided the information for the period from 21^st July 2014 until
the 12^th May 2015. In addition, I attach a further spreadsheet showing
the total number of sales between the 1^st January 2011 and the 12^th May
2015, but excluding the discount and sales price data.

If you have any queries please do not hesitate to contact me on 020 8489
3060 or email at [1][email address].
