DVLA have stated: “DVLA get some payments back from Royal Mail as compensation for (posted items) being lost in their care.”

Please provide the amounts of all payments from Royal Mail Group and/or Post Office Limited and relevant dates, to the DVLA for the period including the last 5 years.

If the request for information pertinent to the period referred to above exceeds cost compliance, please provide the most recent, and preceding data, within the fullest date range that does not exceed cost compliance.

Dear Mr Clark,

Thank you for your e-mail below dated 5 November 2019, in which you request information relating to Royal Mail payments to the DVLA.

You have requested this information under the terms of the Freedom of Information Act 2000.

Following the flotation of Royal Mail on the London Stock Exchange in October 2013, it is no longer subject to the Freedom of Information Act. Royal Mail was previously subject to the Act because it was wholly owned by the government. However, now that the government has sold its shares in Royal Mail, this is no longer the case. Therefore, we are no longer obliged to respond to requests for information under the terms of the FOI Act.
