Dear Mr Styles

Thank you for your enquiry received under the Freedom of Information Act
relating to route 27 bus journeys along Excalibur Drive (you noticed that
since March 2017 that the No 27 bus journeys have increased along
Excalibur Drive with no real reason for this excess of bus journeys) For
ease of reference the points you raised are below:-

1)      How many bus journeys (both ways ) are made by Route 27 buses
along Excalibur Drive in 24 hours in a weekday.

2)      How many bus journeys (both ways) are made along Excalibur drive
in 24 hours in a weekday including Route 27, Route 28 and Route 28B .

3)      In relation to probable environmental pollution What fuel is used
by these buses . Are they Petrol, Diesel or electric or other eco-friendly
fuel.

4)      What plans have Cardiff Bus to reduce environmental pollution on
this route. Are they considering to introduce eco-friendly buses on this
route in order to reduce environmental pollution or considering to reduce
the number of bus journeys along Excalibur Drive.

The responses are as follows:

1)      202 journeys both ways in a 24 hour weekday for Route 27.

2)      To include Route 28 takes the total to 232.

3)      The majority of vehicles allocated on these routes are Euro 6
diesel buses (The highest standard for diesel buses).

4)      As stated before, we are currently looking at service provision
for individual routes regarding eco-friendly buses or alternative use
vehicles.  Whilst we are not currently aware of any pollution specifically
attributable to our vehicles Cardiff Bus is waiting for the outcome of bid
funding from DfT for alternatively powered vehicles for use in Cardiff.
These vehicles are cost prohibitive without extra funding.

If you are dissatisfied with this response for any reason you do have a
right to request an internal review. Internal review requests should be
submitted within two months of the date of receipt of the response to your
original letter and should be addressed to:

Mr D James

Associate Finance Director

Cardiff Bus

Sloper Road

Leckwith

An internal panel will then review the request, and you will be advised of
the outcome.  If, having requested an internal review by Cardiff City
Transport Services Limited, you are still not satisfied with our response
you also have a right of appeal to the Information Commissioner at:
