Rota Patterns

The request was successful.

Dear FOI Officer at East Midlands Ambulance Service NHS Trust,

Please provide the following information under the terms of the
Freedom of Information Act.

1) I require a full list of operational ambulance stations in the
county of Derbyshire. Please do not include standby posts, as I only
wish to know of locations where staff members start and end their
shift. I require the full address and post code of each location.

2) I require a full list of shifts that operate from each
operational ambulance station in Derbyshire, including shift
start/end times and the type of resource.

For example:
Crewe Ambulance Station
3x DSA 0600-1800
3x DSA 1800-0600
1x RRV 0700-1900
1x RRV 1900-0700

3) I require a copy of the rota shift pattern in place at each
ambulance station in Derbyshire. If RRV and DSA rotas are separate,
please provide an example of each.

4) Please provide details of the trust policy on the crewing of RRV
shifts, including both as a permanent deployment and ad hoc on
overtime or relief shifts etc. Please include: minimum grade (e.g.
EMT), minimum post qualification experience (e.g. 6 months) and
minimum length of service for the trust (e.g. 3 months).

I look forward to your prompt response within 20 working days.

Warmest Regards,
John Smith.

Williams Matthew, East Midlands Ambulance Service NHS Trust

Dear Mr Smith

We are writing further to your e-mail dated 24 March 2015 requesting
information about rota patterns.

The questions you have raised along with their answers can be found below:

1.     I require a full list of operational ambulance stations in the
county of Derbyshire. Please do not include standby posts, as I only wish
to know of locations where staff members start and end their shift.  I
require the full address and post code of each location.  Attached is a
list of every Ambulance Station we operate in the Derbyshire Division
along with the full address and postcode. Please note that we deploy
vehicles on a dynamic basis and as such, the place crews begin their shift
at can have little bearing on the area that they operate in during that
shift i.e. they do not necessarily provide cover exclusively in any
specific geographical area.

2.     I require a full list of shifts that operate from each operational
ambulance station in Derbyshire, including shift start/end times and the
type of resource.  For example:

·         Crewe Ambulance Station

·         3x DSA 0600-1800

·         3x DSA 1800-0600

·         1x RRV 0700-1900

·         1x RRV 1900-0700

Please find attached a spreadsheet which provides a list of shifts over a
weekly basis that operate from each EMAS ambulance station in Derbyshire,
which includes shift start and end times, and also the type of resource
used.

3.     I require a copy of the rota shift pattern in place at each
ambulance station in Derbyshire. If RRV and DSA rotas are separate, please
provide an example of each.  Please find attached a spreadsheet which
provides a list of the rotas at every ambulance station in the Derbyshire
Division.  Please note that there are 32 separate tabs at the bottom of
the spreadsheet relevant to each station and the types of vehicles used.

4.     Please provide details of the trust policy on the crewing of RRV
shifts, including both as a permanent deployment and ad hoc on overtime or
relief shifts etc. Please include: minimum grade (e.g. EMT), minimum post
qualification experience (e.g. 6 months) and minimum length of service for
the trust (e.g. 3 months).  Please find attached the Standard Operating
Procedure that covers EMAS procedures regarding the crewing of RRV shifts.

Yours Sincerely

Matthew Williams
