Roadworks on A228 at Cuxton / M2 M20 A20 road closures

Paul Chapman made this Freedom of Information request to Highways England Company Limited

Highways England Company Limited did not have the information requested.

Dear Highways England Company Limited,

Please can you tell me, in the last three years, how many days there have been 'temporary' lights / roadworks at the junction of the A228 and Bush Road / Station Road.

I say 'temporary' because they seem to be there more often than not. Building three houses but having six months of roadworks during and after the buiulding is done is absolutely ridiculous, but yet again we have another THREE WEEKS of holdups all day and night

How about getting all these little jobs done at once? Or fining the contractor for these constant delays?

This junction is less than one mile from the M2 motorway on the only road north/south that hasn't been closed overnight in the last month, with motorway closures galore to deal with it's the only access road between the M2 and M20 between the A2 at Gravesend and Faversham - seriously? Does anyone actually plan these synchronised closures or are you all sitting laughing at the rest of us trying to negotiate ad hoc road closures and diversions that don't seem to have any forethought.

Yours faithfully,

Paul Chapman
