Response to this request is long overdue. By law, under all circumstances, West Sussex County Council should have responded by now (details). You can complain by requesting an internal review.

Dear West Sussex County Council,

Under the general requirements of the Freedom of Information Act 2000, I would be grateful if you would provide the following information in relation to a section of road between the Goodwood horse race course and the motor circuit. This road is called Kennel Hill, it is a straight road running North to South. The stretch of road I would like information for is:- Starting at fork junction just south of horse racecourse, running south down to the roundabout just north of race circuit, where the road meets new road.

Dates of all safety inspections undertaken on the carriageway in the two years preceding 03.09.15

Details of all carriageway defects identified during safety inspections in the two years preceding 03.09.15

Details of how carriageway safety inspections are undertaken, including whether walked or driven, the speed of the inspection vehicle and the number of persons in the vehicle.

The intended frequency of carriageway safety inspections.

Details of all complaints and/or enquiries relating to the carriageway, received in the two years preceding 03.09.15

The hierarchy classification.

The road/section number.

The defect intervention criteria adopted in relation to the identification of all categories of carriageway potholes (in other words, this means how you define a pothole as requiring attention)

The time period(s) adopted between identification and repair (temporary and permanent) of all categories of carriageway defects.

Whether or not the authority has formally adopted all or part of the standards contained within the national code of practice for highways maintenance management.

Yours faithfully,

Jon Clemmetsen 0791 2211402 [email address]

Freedom of Information Act,

Dear Mr Clemmetsen,

Thank you for your enquiry, which has been forwarded to the appropriate
officers for a response. The usual timescale for a response is twenty
working days, that is by or on

If for any reason the Council needs to extend this timescale you will be
notified in accordance with the relevant legislation.

Please note that in 2012 the County Council adopted a position in
principle that FoI and EIR requests to West Sussex County Council and the
Council's responses may be published on the Council's website in a
suitably anonymised form. This is in addition to the individual response
to the requestor, and in line with the Council's commitment to
transparency and open data.

While writing I note that you have included your personal contact details
in the email. You may not be aware that the Whatdotheyknow website
publishes your message in its entirety so you may wish to take steps to
have this removed from your entry.

Yours sincerely,
