Dear Stephen Cosslett

Thank you for your request for information regarding road resurfacing that we received on the 18th of July 2024.

Your request
The road surface in Murch Crescent Dinas Powys has recently been resurfaced as a result of damage caused by the housing development on the old St. Cyres school site. Please confirm if the cost of resurfacing was at the public expense or the developer that caused the damage.

Our response
The Vale of Glamorgan Council can confirm that Murch Crescent, Dinas Powys was on the Highways Maintenance teams three year plan as site requiring resurfacing. Officers within that team were holding off completing the works until the development works neared completion. Works directly outside of the development were completed at the developers cost under a Section 278 agreement and works further downhill completed by the Council.

Works were completed in two phases and these costs are as follows:
Phase 1 - £41,385.00
Phase 2 - £50,694.92
