Dear Staffordshire County Council,

Under the freedom of information act I would kindly request statistics relating to the reporting of and repairs to road defects / pot holes in Stafford.

Examples could include but are not limited to:

1. Volume of reports of defects by the public.
2. Frequency of pro-active checks by the council on roads for defects.
3. Time taken to repair defects once reported.
4. Number and value of claims (both successful and unsuccessful) for damage to vehicles / property due to damage by pot holes.

Where appropriate I would also wish to know the actual AND the targeted figures.

We have completed a search of our records and can confirm the following:

1) Our records would indicate 862 carriageway defects going to Highway operations in the Stafford Borough Area between 01/01/12 - 01/01/14.

2013 - 928 / £198,968
(above is as at 19/2/14).
