Dear Darren

Thank you for your request for information.

Please find information provided by the relevant service team(s) below / attached.

The county council is not responsible for road sweeping (Questions 1, 3 and 5) as part of routine maintenance. This is the responsibility of borough and district councils. If sweeping is required to be carried out by the county council or its contracted partner this is usually hired in at an extra cost to the company.

In regards to the gully emptier, the routine maintenance of these are done via job packs. These involve Annual packs which are done once a year. Biannual packs which are done once every 2 years and Triannual packs which are done once every 3 years. We also have an adhoc crew who do jetting jobs to clear blockages which we come across on or routine (cyclical) packs

The waggons we use vary depending on if its in-house machines or hired in machines. The in-house gully waggons are usually DAF branded trucks with the main system I.E jetting unit, and the tank on the back is made by WHALE.

As part of the normal crew on a gully waggon is 2 operatives. Usually this 2 people who have a class1 licence who take it in turns to drive and empty gully's.

A copy of the gully history for this route in relation to points 2, 4 & 6 is attached. Redaction - Please note that the redacted information is only the name of the member of staff who has generated the report.
