Right to travel on roads without a licence

Jimmy made this Freedom of Information request to Driver and Vehicle Licensing Agency

This request has been closed to new correspondence. Contact us if you think it should be reopened.

Waiting for an internal review by Driver and Vehicle Licensing Agency of their handling of this request.

Dear Driver and Vehicle Licensing Agency,

I have made a request under the freedom of information act.

could you please answer the following questions.

Do i need a valid drivers licence to exercise my right to freely travel on the queens roads, in a mechanically propelled vehicle?

If so is there a Law to enforce upon this or not?

I do NOT mean do i need a licence to DRIVE on the roads, thats obvious you do. I mean TRAVEL in my privately owned automobile, as this is not driving because i have not entered into the "drivers licence contract".

Please confirm or correct the above,

Yours faithfully,

Jimmy.

Dear DVLA.
https://www.whatdotheyknow.com/request/2...

your response does not answer the questions that i asked you, i clearly stated that you need a driving licence to drive, that is obvious. What i would like to know is, what are the laws on traveling in ones privately owned auto mobile/car... the common law of this country states that a person is free to travel on the queens highways without prejudice.... TRAVEL not DRIVE. Again you have answered me with the form of an act... the road traffic act.. this is not a law it is an act therefor only viable with my consent, correct? WHAT ARE THE LAWS ON TRAVELING ON THE ROADS, NOT DRIVING. please respond with the correct information.

Yours sincerely,

Jimmy

Again with the same robotic response that I got a long time ago. Since they avoid the basic question and refuse to answer the initial points, they forfeited the issue. I got the same answers with my questions about my right to travel, as is a natural right, not just based on common law principles.

I received the same cut and paste responses too. They know that we are onto them.

It is painfully obvious to anyone reading this FOI request that they will not answer the question, their answers are so pathetically transparent that they become hilarious..
I think we will see more and more people asking these type of questions..
The games up...

I would suggest someone re-submits this request and make it clear as this person has and aslo state that they must answer the question stated and not some other question otherwise they will not have deemed to have responded and therefore not be compliant with the FOI.

It is not acceptable for an FOI request to be made and then answer another question. This would be a get out of jail for any request.

Q : "What color is grass?"
A : "The sky is blue"

Case closed?
