RIDDOR Reporting of Covid-19

Waiting for an internal review by Health and Safety Executive of their handling of this request.

Dear Health and Safety Executive,

Please treat this email as a freedom of information request.

I would be grateful if you could supply me with details of all Covid-19 related RIDDOR reports received by HSE since December 2019.

Please supply summary information in a machine readable spreadsheet broken down by:

- Employer name
- Employer address
- Date
- Summary of report

Additionally, I would also be grateful if you could supply me with details of the number of upheld complaints received by HSE outwith the RIDDOR reporting process regarding inadequate PPE provision by employers in relation to Covid-19.

For these complaints, please supply summary information in a machine readable spreadsheet broken down by:

- Employer name
- Employer address
- Date
- Summary of upheld complaint

I understand that in some cases it may be necessary to withhold some details of some reports in order to mitigate against data protection concerns.

I look forward to hearing from you in due course.

Yours faithfully,

Ally Tibbitt

Dear Health and Safety Executive,

Please pass this on to the person who conducts Freedom of Information reviews.

I am writing to request an internal review of Health and Safety Executive's handling of my FOI request 'RIDDOR Reporting of Covid-19'.

Although I have already requested a review once, I would like to re-iterate my request, now that I have received a late, first substantive response.

I am disappointed that so little information has been released and would therefore ask that the entire initial response is reviewed. In particular I asked for the details of employers where complaints had been upheld. I did not ask for details of complaints which were under investigation, nor those which had not been upheld.

I note that there is precedent for the release of detailed information on the names of employers where RIDDOR complaints have been upheld as HSE has released similar data to me previously.

I therefore look forward to a more complete response in due course.

Yours faithfully,

Ally Tibbitt

Dear Joseph,

It's been quite some time now since I requested an internal review of this request. Obviously, the longer the delay the less useful the data is. I would be very grateful therefore if you could let me know when you expect this matter to be resolved?

I would prefer not to have to escalate the matter to the ICO.

Thanks,

Yours sincerely,

Ally Tibbitt
